Preheat oven to 400ºF and prepare a foil covered baking sheet.
In a large mixing bowl, toss potatoes and dates in oil with chili pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper.
Evenly distribute potato mixture on baking sheet. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until the potatoes are fork tender. Toss vegetables midway through cooking.
About 5 minutes before taking the potatoes out of the oven, sprinkle almonds over the top, and return to oven to lightly toast almonds.
