David “Chef Catman” Catapano is a world renowned chef and a distinguished and successful poker player. Catapano’s food has been given a Michelin Nod and he has been seen on Television shows Such as Chopped, Good Morning America and Taste this TV.
He is known for his Mediterranean Twisted Tapas, and his much raved about, New School Italian Food. Catapano makes his own fresh Mozzarella and it has been called the best in NYC and won 3 top honors awards from the World Federation of Chefs.
A true New Yorker he came up in the restaurant world in old school Italian kitchen brigades such as Cucina La Traviata, Basso 51, Rao’s and Fresco NYC. It was at Fresco NYC that he mentored under Chef Vincent Scotto who pushed Catapano to go to Culinary school.
Catapano was Quoted as saying “These were supposed to have been some of the toughest kitchens in NYC but after working under my Grandmother these kitchen were like Disneyland.”
Chef Catman Graduated with honors from Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas Nevada. This is where Chef Catman’s career really took off working under such chefs as Wolfgang puck, David Meyers, Mario Batalli, Sheridan Su and Carla Pelligrino.
During one of his cooking demos he was noticed by a producer from the food network and the rest is history.
He has an Amazon Best Selling cookbook Grandma Catapano’s Sunday Gravy and is working on his follow up “You can cook too” released in September 2015.
